Red Megalanthus Dragon Fruit

Description

A promising new variety first flowered in November 2025, originally developed in late 2023. This selection is very similar to Purple Megalanthus, but with noticeably fewer spikes, making it easier to handle while retaining its refined fruit characteristics.

Sourced from a commercial dragon fruit grower in Yeppoon, this variety shows strong potential for both flavour and grower-friendly management. Flesh texture is soft and delicate, appealing to those who enjoy a refined eating experience.

The main benefit to spikes is the birds have avoided eating these over other thornless varieties.

Care: 

Plant into an excellent quality potting mix to a depth of 2-3 cm

Regular Fertilizer 

Water once the soil has dried out.

Once rooted transfer onto a post.
