Bloody Mary – Hylocereus polyrhizus Dragon fruit

Bloody Mary SEQ – Dragon Fruit Variety

Description

Bloody Mary SEQ is an exciting new variety (2023), with its first fruit harvested in December 2024. This striking dragon fruit occurs naturally in Colombia and Panama, where it thrives in warm climates with an average annual temperature of 25–28°C.

Known as a “super fruit”, Bloody Mary is valued for its high antioxidant content, thanks to its rich, deep red flesh. The plant produces beautiful yellow-to-white flowers, visually similar to well-known varieties such as Zamorano and PT7.

The fruit features a red skin with bright green fins, a firm dark-red flesh, and a solid structure with a 6 mm skin thickness. Plants grow vigorously to moderately, making them well-suited to both hobby gardens and larger plantings.
