Desert King TLM – Dragon Fruit

Description:
Desert King TLM is a striking hybrid of Selenicereus megalanthus × polyrhizus, producing its first fruit in May 2025 from a plant established in late 2023.
This variety is self-fertile and features vibrant orange skin paired with rich purple flesh, making it visually impressive and highly marketable.

Originally developed in Israel, Desert King is highly sought-after by both home growers and commercial farms for its exceptional fruit production and strong performance.

We currently grow several versions of Desert King from different global suppliers, each showing slight differences in growth habit and branch characteristics.
This particular plant was given to us by a NSW dragon fruit enthusiast, with its lineage tracing back to TLM Dragon Fruit in the Philippines.

Because dragon fruit trading sometimes includes seed-grown plants mixed with traded cuttings, we’re keen to compare the variations — much like a botanical game of Chinese whispers — to observe how closely each resembles the original Desert King.

Care: 

Plant into an excellent quality potting mix to a depth of 2-3 cm

Regular Fertilizer 

Water once the soil has dried out.
