Qld Garden Show 2025 - Rare Dragon Fruit

Queensland Garden Expo 2025 – A Weekend to Remember!

What a fantastic time we had at this year’s Queensland Garden Expo! This event is always a highlight on our calendar, and 2025 certainly didn’t disappoint.

This year, we expanded our presence with three separate sites, allowing us to showcase even more of what we do here at Rare Dragon Fruit. A huge thank you to Thom from Autumnleaf Landscaping, who helped us prepare some stunning display plants for the Kitchen Garden section.

They looked incredible and really captured people’s imaginations about what’s possible when growing dragon fruit creatively and beautifully.

We were also thrilled to officially launch both of our books:
📕 How to Grow Dragon Fruit
📗 How to Cook with Dragon Fruit

The books were a big hit and complemented the talks Yana gave on stage. It was such a joy to share tips, techniques, and personal stories with an audience full of plant lovers and curious foodies.

To be honest, stepping on stage after such seasoned presenters like Matt Golinski and Sophie from Gardening Australia was pretty daunting! They are absolute showstoppers, with so much charisma and experience.

But the real magic of the Expo is always the people.

It’s a wonderful chance to reconnect with familiar faces and meet new dragon fruit enthusiasts. One of the highlights this year was seeing how excited people of all ages were about growing their own dragon fruit—especially the younger crowd!

It’s not every day you see 15-year-olds asking about rooting cuttings and trellis designs, but that’s exactly what happened, and it gave us so much hope for the future of gardening.

The biggest thank you goes out to our girls, Noa and Fin! 💛 We couldn’t have done it without them. These two are usually the shyest young ladies, but they absolutely stepped up and did an incredible job helping out over the weekend. It was such a proud moment for us to see them come out of their shells as the show progressed—chatting with visitors, answering questions, and being such a big part of the team. Watching their confidence grow was one of the most rewarding parts of the whole event.

We left the event feeling inspired, grateful, and a little bit sun-kissed. 🌞

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared stories, asked questions, and supported what we do.

We can’t wait to return in 2026!
