Super Nova – Dragon Fruit
Description:
Super Nova is a striking variety featuring red to orange-green skin, with a unique flesh pattern that begins pink/purple around the edges and transitions to white toward the centre. A real standout on the tasting table and in the garden.
This variety produces a white flower and first fruited at 218g.
It flowered in late November, with the first fruit appearing just 18 months after planting.
Super Nova has an upright growth habit, tending to grow straight up with very few lateral branches, making it easy to manage but slightly different to train compared to typical varieties.
We did not hand-pollinate this fruit — bees did all the work. Pollination status is still being confirmed; Super Nova may be self-fertile or self-sterile.
Sourced from a Queensland dragon fruit hobby grower.
