Soursop Tree – 3 Plant (Annona muricata)

Soursop Tree (Annona muricata)

Description:

The Soursop is a tropical fruit tree native to the northern regions of South America. In warm tropical conditions, it is a fast-growing evergreen tree that can begin fruiting within 2–3 years from seedling stage.

Soursop produces large heart-shaped fruit with green skin covered in soft fleshy spines. The tree fruits throughout the warmer months, typically from April through to August in suitable climates.

Perfect for tropical and subtropical gardens, Soursop is a rewarding fruit tree for home growers wanting to grow something unique and delicious.

Fruiting Season:

April, May, June, July & August

Taste & Uses

Immature Soursop fruit can be cooked as a vegetable, added to soups, or roasted.

When ripe, the creamy white flesh is soft, juicy, and slightly tangy with a rich tropical flavour. The flesh produces a refreshing thirst-quenching juice and is often enjoyed fresh or blended into smoothies and desserts.

One of the most popular ways to enjoy Soursop is blended with vanilla ice cream for a rich tropical dessert. The fruit can also be dried into sweet fruit leather.
