Coffs NOID Dragon Fruit

Coffs NOID Dragon Fruit – Selenicereus sp.

Description:
Coffs NOID is an experimental dragon fruit variety discovered growing in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales. This unidentified (NOID) plant caught our attention due to its strong growth and unusual characteristics, and we are excited to see how this variety develops over time.

The plant has proven to be a vigorous grower, producing flowers just 12 months after planting, which is relatively quick for a young dragon fruit plant. When the fruit first developed, it surprised us — we were expecting yellow skin with white flesh, but instead the plant produced red to pink skin with green fins and white flesh.

Coffs NOID produces white flowers and appears to set fruit reliably, although self-pollination has not yet been fully tested.

Makes a great root stock for grafting dragon fruit

The first fruit weighed around 250 g, but as the plant matured the second year fruit increased to around 450–500 g, suggesting good fruit potential as the plant becomes more established. The fruit has a skin thickness of approximately 6 mm, giving it good structure and protection.
