New Variety – 2022 Release

Armando is a hardy red-fleshed dragon fruit variety with strong lineage and excellent climate tolerance. Originally collected by R. Lobo in Las Manos, on the border of Honduras and Nicaragua, this variety naturally occurs in the region and has since been studied further.

DNA testing shows Armando is related to San Ignacio, a commercially grown dragon fruit variety in Nicaragua, reinforcing its strong production background.

This variety is particularly suited to growers in southern states, as it demonstrates tolerance to both light frost and heat, making it a versatile and resilient option for a wider range of climates.

Care: 

Plant into an excellent quality potting mix to a depth of 2-3 cm

Regular Fertilizer 

Water once the soil has dried out.

Once rooted transfer onto a post.
