Maui Dragon – Hylocereus undatus

Description

Maui Dragon is a dragon fruit variety from the species Hylocereus undatus.

This new variety (2023) produced its first flowers and fruit in late 2024. The original plant was collected on the east shore of Maui, Hawaii, and our plant was sourced from a Far North Queensland dragon fruit enthusiast.

  • Self-pollinating / self-fertile

  • Large white flower

  • Growth: Vigorous grower, though it may experience some rust in humid conditions

  • Skin colour: Red skin with green fins

  • Skin thickness: Approximately 6 mm

  • Flesh colour: White

  • Fruit size: Around 600 g (first fruit)


Taste

A refreshing tangy flavour, best served chilled.

Notes of kiwi and green grape, making it a very refreshing white dragon fruit.

Care: 

Plant into an excellent quality potting mix to a depth of 2-3 cm 

Your dragon fruit will be marked with an arrow, plant ^ Arrow points up to the sky.

Regular Fertilizer 

Water once the soil has dried out.

Once rooted transfer onto a post.
