Colombian Supreme Red – Red-Fleshed Dragon Fruit

Colombian Supreme Red is a vigorous, high-performing dragon fruit variety and is one of the main commercial types grown in Australia. It produces large fruit with pink to red skin and deep red flesh, making it a reliable and recognisable variety for both backyard and production plantings.

This variety belongs to Hylocereus polyrhizus and produces large white flowers. It is self-fertile, meaning it does not require cross-pollination to set fruit. Fruit size typically ranges from 500–900 g, making it a strong option for consistent yields.

Colombian Red is known for its vigorous growth habit, although it can be more susceptible to rust than some other varieties. Good airflow, seasonal monitoring, and balanced nutrition help manage this under South East Queensland conditions. The fruit has a thinner skin, contributing to its smooth eating quality.
