Nicaraguan Red – Hylocereus guatemalensis dragon fruit

Nicaraguan Red

New Variety – Introduced September 2023
Not available until 2025

Nicaraguan Red is an exciting new dragon fruit variety currently under evaluation in our orchard. Originally imported from a large-scale commercial dragon fruit plantation in Nicaragua, this cultivar has already shown strong potential in subtropical Queensland conditions.

With its bright purple flesh and thin, slightly green-toned skin, Nicaraguan Red is both visually striking and commercially appealing.

A special thank you to Andre, a passionate NSW dragon fruit enthusiast, for sharing this standout variety with us.
