Hawaiian Red Dragon Fruit

Hawaiian Red Dragon Fruit — Description

Hawaiian Red is a self-sterile, red-fleshed dragon fruit variety that offers reliable production once established. While the plant can be slightly slower growing in its early stages, it settles in well and goes on to maintain consistent fruiting with the right care and pollination partner.

The fruit is rounder than many red varieties, with distinctive fins that curl more than most other dragon fruit, giving it a unique appearance. Skin and flesh are both a rich red, and fruit size ranges from small to medium (230–430 g).

Introduced as a new variety in 2024, Hawaiian Red was sourced from a Queensland dragon fruit farm and is well suited to home growers looking to expand their red-flesh collection.

Taste Profile

Hawaiian Red has an average to mild sweetness, making it a balanced, easy-eating fruit.
