Grow a Pizza – Hands-On Garden & Food Workshop for Schools

Grow a Pizza is a fun and interactive school garden and food education workshop where students create their own pizza while learning how to grow the ingredients themselves.

In this hands-on session, students explore where food comes from, how vegetables grow, and how easy it is to start a food garden using seeds and kitchen scraps.

During the workshop students will:

• Make their own mini pizza bases

• Slice and prepare fresh vegetable toppings

• Learn how to save seeds from vegetables such as tomato, capsicum and pumpkin

• Plant seeds to take home or add to the school garden

By the end of the session, each child leaves with their own seed cup or seed envelopes, ready to grow the ingredients for their next pizza.

This workshop encourages healthy eating, gardening skills, sustainability and hands-on learning, helping students connect food, plants and the environment in a fun and memorable way.
