Donovan’s Laverne Red is a red-fleshed dragon fruit variety renowned for its exceptionally large fruit.
The fruit is extremely juicy with a distinct watermelon-like flavor and a high sweetness level.
It was originally discovered by Donovan Vasta among red-fleshed seedlings from La Verne Nursery in Piru, California, and named in his honor.
