Cuban is a vibrant red-fleshed dragon fruit variety producing good-sized fruit with a rich, nostalgic sweetness. A strong performer among red varieties, Cuban combines vigorous growth with dependable fruit production.
Self-pollinating: Yes
Flower: Large white night-blooming flower
Growth: Vigorous and robust red variety; may experience some rust, which is typical of many red varieties in humid conditions
Skin colour: Red to pink with green fins
Skin thickness: Approximately 5 mm
Flesh colour: Deep red
Fruit size: 400–500 g
This variety was purchased from a Brisbane dragon fruit farm and has established well in our collection.
Flavour reminiscent of old-fashioned candy apple toffee lollies.
BRIX: 15.5 on the first fruit, though the flavour presents noticeably sweeter.
Cuban is a reliable self-pollinating red variety, well suited to home growers wanting bold colour, vigorous growth, and a sweet flavour profile.
Care:
Plant into an excellent quality potting mix to a depth of 2-3 cm
Your dragon fruit will be marked with an arrow, plant ^ Arrow points up to the sky.
Regular Fertilizer
Water once the soil has dried out.
Once rooted transfer onto a post.
