Water chestnut- Elecocharis dulcis

Description:

A grass-like sedge native to Asia, tropical Africa, and Oceania
An aquatic vegetable that grows in marshes, underwater, in the mud
Its foliage is an erect green hollow stem.

A good habitat plant for frogs and fish 

Taste: 

Edible Chestnuts corn is used in stir-fries, soups and salads. You can eat fresh just thoroughly wash, peel, and eat them raw
Cultivated when stems dieback 

Care Instructions: 

Plant in a depth of 15-30mm and weigh down with river sand or gravel to stop corn from floating away.
