Okinawa Spinach- Gynura crepioides


Description:
A dense, low-growing plant to 70 cm high with purple leaves on one side and green on the other.
It produces bright orange flowers that bring in all the butterflies even tho it smells of rotten socks.
We like to use this as a green mulch as ground cover a weed sepresant

Uses:

The leaves and stems are eaten raw in salads or they can be cooked as a green vegetable in stir-fries.

Care: 

Thrives in warm, wet conditions is best suited to subtropical and tropical areas

Can be frost sensitive

Plant in full sun or partial shade. 

Can be grown from stem cutting

Like rich well-drained soil
