Description:
Frankie’s Red is a unique dragon fruit variety with characteristics similar to megalanthus types, particularly in the shape and structure of the fruit. The fruit develops through a beautiful colour change, starting green, then turning yellow and finally orange as it ripens.

When cut open, the fruit reveals red flesh with white highlights toward the centre, creating a striking contrast. The fruit shape and size are comparable to typical megalanthus varieties.

The plant produces thin, dark green, three-sided stems that grow in long segments and have small thick spines, another trait commonly seen in megalanthus types.

This variety was sourced from a commercial Sunshine Coast dragon fruit farm, and it is believed that the original plant may have occurred naturally in the wild before being cultivated.
