American Beauty- H. guatemalensis X H. Undatus USA Dragon Fruit Plant

American beauty originated in Guatemala and was introduced to Florida,  USA.
Dragon Fruit is a hybrid variety that comes from Hylocereus and the species guatemalensis
 

Self-pollinating: Yes

Flower:White 43 Days from flower to harvest

Growth:A slightly slower-growing Variety but American Beauty is definitely worth the wait. Can suffer a bit from full sun and will benefit from growing in a protected environment.
Skin color:  Vibrant pink to purple

Skin thickness: 3mm

Flesh color: Flesh that is almost neon in colour.

Fruit size: Produces a round medium fruit (350g-500g)
Taste:Very pleasant sweet fruit with a flavour similar to grape but with a bit more refreshing tang.

When young cold, rot prune, on of top DF varieties, not quick growing

Care: 

Plant into an excellent quality potting mix to a depth of 2-3 cm 

Your dragon fruit will be marked with an arrow, plant ^ Arrow point up to the sky.

Regular Fertilizer 

Water once the soil has dried out.

Once rooted transfer onto a post.
