Chimera Dragon Fruit (Hylocereus guatemalensis hybrid)
Origin: Thailand
Availability: New 2024
Description:
Chimera is an ultra-rare and visually stunning dragon fruit variety originally from Thailand. What sets this variety apart is its extraordinary branch coloration — a striking combination of green with vivid red stripes, unlike anything seen in typical dragon fruit plants.
This variety is the result of a somatic hybrid, originating from a graft between red Gymnocalycium and Selenicereus undatus. This unusual parentage gives Chimera its distinctive behavior and appearance. The branches may occasionally curl and are known to produce moon cactuses directly from the stem, adding to its rarity and collector appeal.
