Bien Hoa Red – Hylocereus guatemalensis dragon fruit

Bien Hoa Red Dragon Fruit variety comes from the genus Hylocereus and the species Guatemalensis

Originated in Guatemala, a Central American country south of Mexico

Purple / magenta flesh 

White Flower 

Self-fertile

Round fruit

Average fruit size 360- 500g

Great producer when mature

DNA test shows that this variety has the same DNA as American Beauty. 

Sourced from a Qld grower, we will see the differences between the two over time. 

Requires a bit more protection from full sun and cold. 

Delicious flavour and very juicy

Our first fruit was picked to early and measured 14.4 it had a nectarine flavor, we expect a lot more from this plant as it develops.  

Care: 

Plant into an excellent quality potting mix to a depth of 2-3 cm 

Your dragon fruit will be marked with an arrow, plant ^ Arrow points up to the sky.

Regular Fertilizer 

Water once the soil has dried out.

Once rooted transfer onto a post.
