Description:
- A tropical perennial plant with thick fleshy rootlets is widely used in cooking in Thailand and Indonesia for its aromatic spicy flavour.
- Grows to 60 to 90cm
- Flowers during summer and in winter will lose all their foliage
Taste:
- Can be eaten raw in salads, added to soups and curries, and made into pickles
Care Instructions:
- Likes a tropical or subtropical climate, or in cooler climates warm protected positions in a temperate climate. You could also keep it in a pot and bring it indoors in frost areas
- Can be grown in full sun, but does better in semi-shaded
- Clumping
- Moist well-drained soil
