Description:
Its fruit is one of the most traded spices in the world.
The fruits turn red when they are ripe and died to create the pepper we buy in shops.
Black pepper is cooked and dried unripe fruit.
If you pick the immature fruit when they are still green you will have green pepper.
If you keep the seeds and ground them you will have white pepper.
Grown from cutting so this plant will fruit a lot quicker than a cutting.
Taste:
Fresh pepper is used in Asian cooking giving a lovely flavour to curries.
Care Instructions:
This Vine grows to 4m – you will need a trellis.
This plant does not like temps below 5c- in cooler climates keep indoors during the winter months.
It likes filtered sunlight and damp conditions, It’s not happy when the soil gets too dry.
Like semi-shade and indirect sunlight.
